Rusty
Straw Founder of
"THE SCRUBS"
Rusty
Guitar/Vocals
Rusty Straw, guitarist
and vocalist for "The Scrubs," He has played in bands
since junior high school. About four years ago, after many years off to
raise his family,he is back playing again. This time Rusty is playing
exclusively for the lord. He also plays lead guitar for Midnight Cry Church,
Better known as "The Biker Church"
Rusty believes that
the purpose of "The Scrubs" is to introduce the Lord to the
unsaved, bringing services to the prisons and gospel missions; playing
parties, churches, dances and anywhere else the Lord would call upon them
to serve.
The Scrubs play what Rusty calls "fishing music" which helps
reel in the unsaved.
Rusty and "The
Scrubs" make a joyful noise unto the lord.
Ben
(Beeno) Nelson
Lead
Singer/Rhythm Guitar
Beeno started playing the guitar in 1969. Since that time, he has been
involved with numerous Christian music endeavors. When not touring the
stages of the world with the Scrubs, He is the worship leader and music
minister at Midnight Cry Church in Snohomish, WA. Beeno, a licensed
minister with the Christian Crusader motorcycle ministry, plays a pretty
mean bass, as well as his 12 string Vox guitar.
Beeno's early influences included the Beatles, Lynard Skynard, Larry
Norman and Led Zepplin; an excellent foundation for the classic rock
parody music of the Scrubs.

Dave
Richards
Bass
Dave's
first guitar was a drum set. He learned by playing along with vinyl
albums from the likes of The Beatles, Steppenwolf, and a few other bands
from the late 60's/early 70's. After learning most of the "In-a-gadda-da-vida"
and "I'm a Man" solo's he was laying down a pretty good beat.
Then he loaned his kit to a "friend", who sold it for some
mood altering chemicals. As he entered his freshman year of high school,
he started playing an old beat up acoustic guitar. It had a crack that
made the strings rattle making it sound a bit distorted. He learned
the chords to a few songs from Creedence Clearwater Revival, Van Morrison,
James Taylor, and Kenny Loggins, just to name a few. By the end of his
senior year he had upgraded and traded several instruments until he
went into the Coast Guard in 1974. After a short 13 months he was honorably
discharged and picked up his guitar again, this time dabbling with country
music.
He was also writing his own music and was overheard by a southern rock
guitarist who asked if he would like to play in a rock and roll band.
Soon he was playing rhythm guitar to songs by Yes, Heart, Deep Purple,
Jethro Tull, and Led Zeppelin. When the band needed a bass player, they
hired a musician that played guitar a bit better than he did so he switched
to bass and found a new love. After about a year the band broke up and
he quit playing (except to write his own music) until 1985 when a drummer
friend of his asked him to join a country band. Alcohol and personnel
problems took there toll though and after three years the band broke
up.
He found the Lord in 1993 and felt led to play again. He was excitedly
welcomed onto the worship team at the small church he attended. They
"reinvented" some of the traditional hymns and contemporary
music to gear it toward a younger crowd. He'd never heard of Christian
Rock before and it opened his eyes to a whole new dimension in music.
Before long he was on five different worship teams. Juggling that schedule
proved to be too much so he took some time off from playing until God
led him to Midnight Cry Church and The Scrubs Band.

Caig
Everson
Electric Guitar
Craig started playing guitar in his early teens while
living in Alaska. That is where he made his first album with a local band.
He eventually ended up in Washington, playing the local clubs, when in
the late 80's decided that secular music and the life style wasn't for
him. He finally settled down and got married at the age of 30, worked
a regular job and had a normal life.
In February of 2006 he was diagnoised with Multiple Myeloma
- termal cancer, at a very late stage. He underwent a stem cell transplant
on Oct 11, 2006, that became his new birthday. It is God's grace that
he his still here. He is our miracle and chose to use his musical gift
to serve God. He plays in the Midnight Cry Worship Team and also in The
Scrubs Band!

Rev.
Daniel McMillan
Olafr
Bass/Vocals
Feb. 19, 1954 - Jan. 2, 2008
Daniel James McMillan (a.k.a.) "Master Baron Mikill
Olafr Bjarnarsson (SCA)", age 53, fell softly into the arms of God,
the afternoon of Wednesday, January 2, 2008, after a four year ferocious
battle with cancer. He passed in the arms of his loving wife, who was
there till the final breath.
He fought harder than anyone had a right to expect him to, a warrior to
the end.
Born February 19, 1954 in Tacoma, WA to James and Maurine McMillan, he
moved to Mt. Vernon, WA at the age of three where he attended and completed
his schooling. He met and married his High School Sweetheart, Mary (Chris)
Caskey, August 4, 1972. They made their first home in Spokane, WA.
He joined the Air Force in April 1972 and was discharged August 1974.
An accomplished Bass guitar player, his love for music took him to playing
with many Bands all over t he State and even to Nashville, TN. His last
"gig" was with his friends, "The Scrubs" at Midnight
Cry Church.
A Real Estate Appraiser for 30 years, he sat on many committees across
the country defining the standards used today, and personally training
others in his craft, including his two sons.
In August 1989, he moved his family to Snohomish, WA, where they lived
in a house on 5 acres to enjoy the peace and quiet, raise their children,
and to gift his wife with the trees she so dearly loves.
In 1994 he and his family joined the S.C.A. (Society for Creative Anachronism),
a historical medieval re-enactment/ educational group, where he volunteered
years of service to the Kingdom of An Tir.
He was: Kingdom Seneschal and Kingdom Constable (x2), Member of the Order
of the Pelican, Ferocious squire to Viscount Sir Donnan the Truehearted,
Brewer of fine skookum meads, Norse Judge, Great Yellow Fjordflopper.
He also spearheaded (pun intended) competitive thrown weapons, wr i ting
the first set of rules acknowledged by An Tir and the Known World. In
the 1990's, he attended the International Knife Throwing Competition,
where he was ranked third in the nation and tenth in the world for his
knife throwing skills. He was known for his quick wit, keen sense of humor
and knowledge of the absurd, which he shared at the drop of a hat. He
questioned everything and lived life on his own terms. He will be missed
by all who loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary (Chris); his sons, Sean (Angie)
McMillan, of Marysville, WA and Jered McMillan, of Snohomish, WA; his
daughter, Laura (Tristan) Erickson, of Snohomish; grandchildren, Raegan,
D. J. and Koll McMillan, and Avanleigh Erickson; his parents, Jim (Ruth)
McMillan, of Des Moines, WA, and Maurine (Louie) Kunferman, of Mt. Vernon;
brother, Paul Kunferman, of Mt. Vernon; sisters-in-law, Jon Anne Brown
and Mikki (Wayne) Martin, of Anacortes; brother, Kim Etta, of Mt. Vernon;
many nieces and ne phews, dear friends who loved him and whom he loved,
many of which held us up and helped us along the way; and last but not
least, his little Jack Russell Terrorist, Bo, who still hasn't figured
out where he's gone.
Special thank you to Hospice, Dr. Congden and the Oncology Unit at Monroe
Hospital for giving us the gift of time, Mary's First Heritage Bank family
for the care, support and encouragement these many months that allowed
Mary to stay home and be with Daniel and her family. The things they did
for us are too many to mention and are priceless. Thank you. Also to Midnight
Cry Church for their sacrificial help in so many areas.
A Celebration of Daniel's life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February
2, 2008, at Midnight Cry Church (210 Ave B, Snohomish, WA). Potluck reception
to follow at the church.

"Family is not defined by the blood flowing in your veins, but by
the names written on your heart." Both his heart and family were
big enough to fill any room. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care

Vernon, Washington (360) 424 - 1002. Cards of condolence may be sent to
the family in care of the Funeral Home. Please share memories of Daniel

Brad Turley
Brad
Turley is the drummer, singer for the SCRUBS band. He was looking for
a Christian ministry to play for when, Rusty a.k.a. quick-straw McGraw,
(quick Straw) invited me for a session, and the rest, as they say, is
history.
Since giving his heart to the Lord Jesus Christ, he has blessed him with
His grace, and love, a faithful, God-fearing wife, Angel, five children
Leslie, Kayla, Stevie Mae, Austin, and Karissa.
In the pursuit of happiness, Brad believes God has arranged his Priorities
in this order: God first, family second, work third. Then the complete
understanding and applications of the percussive arts Society's 40 international
drum rudiments!!!
May God find you in good faith!

Cindy
Eadson
Cindy Eadson was walking
alone one day, and things had been unsettled in her life for awhile. She
prayed to the Lord one day, and spoke to Him, about never bringing another
man into her life unless the man put Him (God) first and foremost. Not
too far down the road, her daughter had a friend who had a father that
was meandering through life alone with his music, and had been going to
a small church called "Midnight Cry" and the Lord sent each
other into the same path.
The man's name was Rusty.
Cindy, got interested in his music, getting back to a serious relationship
with God, and helping with the band , helping him put together the music
books, listening to songs and typing them etc. And generally forming a
great God based relationship.
One day the band was
practicing a beautiful worship song, and Rusty asked Cindy to sing it,
(she new most of them because she was doing the overheads at church)
And she had never sung before, and he kept her in the band.
Cindy has grown with this wonderful gift of giving to other's through
Christ's music and love.
Rusty proposed to Cindy at church last August in front of God and the
congregation.
They plan a summer wedding, Oh the Lord is good, and He knows what we
need and how to teach us to serve one another. Cindy & Rusty continue
to work together serving the Lord through music.
Praise God for His Goodness and Mercies!
Be blessed
Cindy
